Posters By Who?

G'day! I'm Alex (LX), the artist behind Posters By LX. My mission is to reimagine Australia's most iconic scenery for the modern Aussie home. Each collection is a celebration of our unique landscape and a chapter in my own personal story.
Like many, I spent time in a job that felt monotonous. I knew I needed to trade that mundane 9-to-5 for a career that was both fulfilling and fun. That decision is why Posters By LX was born.
This business is more than just selling art; it's the culmination of my desire for ultimate creative freedom. While being an artist is incredibly rewarding for me, the true joy comes from seeing my work bring a unique spark and life into Aussie homes.
Inspiration & Style

My aesthetic is a tribute to Mid-Century Modern graphic design fused with a contemporary digital sensibility.
I draw heavily on the clean precision and minimalist composition of classic design, which serves as the foundation for every piece. This structure is brought to life through a deep love for retro nostalgia and a forward-looking, optimistic energy.
The art is built around the illusion of depth and light, created through highly saturated, layered gradients and a refined, often retro-inspired colour palette. This meticulous process transforms simple geometric silhouettes into pieces that are both visually sharp and luxuriously vibrant, giving familiar forms an unexpected, glowing complexity.

Where did colour go?
Thinking back to when I was a kid, I remember a world full of colour. The flowers, grass and other greenery in the garden were incredibly vibrant. Cars were all different colours, shapes and sizes. Households were expressive, full of colour and different, unique items.

Now, all there is are desaturated blues, faded greens and the same various shades of grey. Cars are bland and colourless, built off the same model, just with a different logo. Households have sacrificed expression for functionality. I mean, why can't they be both functional and expressive?

The world has lost its personality. It's lost its colour. Let's bring it all back to Australia.
